Combine Dressings:

COMBINE PAD DRESSINGS are used to absorb and compress bleeding, exudate from wounds and general protection covers for all types of basic wound care. The main advantages are that they are non stick, absorbing and comfortable. They can be held into place with medical tape, strapping or bandages.

The combine dressing can also be used to pack large bleeding wounds after initial bleeding control by direct pressure. They are wound dressings consisting of a highly absorbent thick layer of fleece enclosed in a soft and conformable non-woven fabric, folded over to form a flat tube. The non-woven covered pads have soft end seals to prevent pressure areas from forming

There are two types that are mainly sold in the market place.

Non-Woven which are a mixture of 80% Polyester/ 20% Viscose which are 4 times more absorbent than the other one which is made of wood pulp.

The product comes in individual Sterile Packaging and is available in several sizes:

10cm x 20cm, 20cm x 20cm, 20cm x 30cm, 20cm x 40cm,

There is also an alternative Non-Sterile Combine Roll that can be cut to length in sizes 10cm x 10cm or 10cm x 20cm.

Description
The Non Woven Combines consists of a wadding of mixed viscose/polyester fibres enclosed by a non woven polyester cover. The mixed fibres are confined within the cover by heat sealing the ends of the cover and the two edges along the length of the combine are glued.

Materials and Construction
The absorbent wadding of the non woven combines for all sizes are made from mixed fibres of 80% Polyester/ 20% Viscose
The cover enclosing the wadding is nonwoven polyester fabric and the weight of the non woven fabric is 18gsm.
A synthetic resin to bind the overlap in the non-woven covers along the length on one side of combine.
