Epaderm Ointment is a 3 in 1 emollient, skin cleanser and bath additive that provides relief for dry skin conditions. Epaderm Ointment creates a barrier which aids moisture retention within the skin and protective benefits of paraffin-based emollients. Epaderm Ointment is especially effective if applied immediately after washing to counteract the loss of essential oils from the skin.
Benefits of Epaderm Ointment
- Aids moisture retention within the skin
- Can be used on the skin, as a skin cleanser or bath additive
- Suitable for all ages, including babies
- SLS (Sodium lauryl sulfate) free
- Can be used like normal soap
- No colourings, fragrances, additives or preservatives
Areas of Use
Epaderm Ointment can be used for eczema, psoriasis and all other dry skin conditions. It is suitable for all ages, including babies. Children usually require 250g per week, and children over 10 years of age and adults usually require 600g per week for application to the whole body. When caring for dry skin conditions, The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends washing with emollients rather than detergents or soaps, as these can increase water loss from the skin.
How to Use
As an emollient: apply to wet or dry skin as often as required.
As a skin cleanser: scoop a small amount from the tub onto your hand and lather it up with warm water; then use it as a normal soap.
As a bath additive: melt around 4g in a tumbler of hot water, then add it to the bath once it is sufficiently cool. Be careful as Epaderm Ointment will make the bath slippery, and never apply hot water directly to dry skin.
